About the event
The ITF 2026 Summit: Funding Resilient Transport is the annual flagship event of the International Transport Forum (ITF) at the OECD and one of the most influential global gatherings focused on transport policy and mobility systems. The summit will take place from May 6 to May 8, 2026, in Leipzig, Germany, bringing together transport ministers, policymakers, industry leaders, researchers, and representatives of international organizations from around the world.
Each year, the ITF Summit focuses on a strategic theme that reflects major challenges and opportunities facing the global transport sector. The 2026 edition is dedicated to “Funding Resilient Transport,” highlighting the urgent need for sustainable investment and financial strategies that strengthen the resilience of transport infrastructure and operations. Transport systems worldwide are increasingly exposed to risks such as climate change, extreme weather events, geopolitical tensions, pandemics, and cyber threats, which makes resilience a key priority for future mobility planning.
The summit provides a high-level platform for dialogue between governments, the private sector, academia, and civil society. Discussions will focus on how to mobilize financing for resilient transport networks, improve long-term connectivity, and ensure reliable and efficient transport services. Key topics include infrastructure investment, digital and physical resilience, cybersecurity, and strategies for strengthening global supply chains and mobility systems.
With more than a thousand participants from over 80 countries expected, the ITF Summit offers extensive networking opportunities, policy debates, and research sessions. By bringing together international decision-makers and experts, the event aims to support collaboration and develop practical solutions that help transport systems adapt to future challenges while promoting sustainable and resilient mobility worldwide.
