Mercitalia Intermodal has secured the continuation of its transportation services for Colgate-Palmolive, maintaining a partnership that has been in place for 16 years. The company will operate six weekly trains connecting the Pomezia terminal in Italy with Duisburg in Germany, supporting the distribution of personal care and parapharmaceutical products to various destinations in the Netherlands, France, Germany, and Great Britain.
The service involves a door-to-door logistics model, incorporating rail transport and subsequent delivery to final distribution points across Europe. The shift from road to rail for these operations contributes to reduced CO₂ emissions and limits the need for truck-based transport on European roadways.
