The simulators will be utilized primarily for training, certifying, and evaluating locomotive and railcar engineers.

SIM Factor has secured an order from Romania’s national passenger railway operator, CFR Călători, to deliver two multifunctional railway simulators. The contract, valued at approximately EUR 1.5 million net, covers the supply of simulators equipped with the European Train Control System (ETCS).

Key functionalities include realistic scenarios for train operation and shunting, as well as the simulation of equipment failures. This will provide trainees and experienced drivers with opportunities to practice responses to operational and technical issues under controlled conditions.

Additional training modules will address locomotive maintenance, inspection, and pre-service preparation tasks. These scenarios aim to prepare engineers for practical applications encountered in regular rail operations.

The simulators are designed to comply with current European railway standards, particularly ETCS, reflecting the continued adoption of unified signalling and operational protocols across European railway networks.

This order represents SIM Factor’s entry into the Romanian market and aligns with the company’s strategy of expanding its operations beyond Poland. Delivery and installation schedules have not yet been disclosed.
