The direct connection expands RCG’s Austria - Germany corridor network and is operated on a fixed timetable.

Rail Cargo Group (RCG) has introduced a new TransFER intermodal service linking Wels with the North Sea ports of Hamburg and Bremerhaven.

With the addition of Wels, RCG now provides three rail links from Austria to Hamburg and Bremerhaven, alongside existing TransFER services from Vienna and Linz. The service connects the Wels terminal directly with both ports in both directions.

The Wels–Hamburg/Bremerhaven TransFER is designed for 20- to 45-foot containers and offers scheduled departures, defined transit times and high capacity. It provides access to intercontinental maritime flows via the North Sea ports and links to economic centres across Central and South-Eastern Europe.

The product includes antenna connections to other Austrian terminals as well as organisation of first- and last-mile transport by truck. Additional freight forwarding services such as customs clearance and trucking are also available.
