DB Cargo Scandinavia has signed a two-year contract with Danish regional operator GoCollective to carry out a full overhaul of 16 Siemens Desiro multiple units at its Fredericia depot from June 2026. The agreement marks the company’s entry into comprehensive fleet overhaul services in Denmark.
Under the contract, each unit will undergo a complete overhaul lasting four to five weeks, including inspection, dismantling and replacement of key components.
Work will be carried out at the Fredericia maintenance facility, which has six tracks, 12 lifting jacks, an electrified siding and dedicated work platforms. A mobile service team will provide additional support across Denmark. The site was originally established for maintenance of DB Cargo’s freight wagons and locomotives and is now expanding into third-party rolling stock services using available capacity.
Spare parts supply will be coordinated with DB Fahrzeuginstandhaltung sites in Fulda and Munich. Bogie reconditioning, not included in the original tender scope, will be handled by a specialised partner in the Netherlands.
The contract includes project and spare parts management, covering procurement and overhaul planning. For DB Cargo Scandinavia, the project represents the first large-scale fleet overhaul assignment in Denmark and forms part of a strategy to develop workshop capabilities with cross-border support from the wider DB Group network.
