Construction has started on a new intermodal terminal at the Port of Gdynia’s Logistics Centre.

The new intermodal terminal at Gdynia port, valued at approximately PLN 75 million (around EUR 16.3 million), is co-financed by the European Union through the Connecting Europe Facility, which is contributing PLN 35 million (about EUR 7.6 million).

The investment involves the development of 2.73 km of new rail infrastructure, a 30,000 m² shunting yard, and a dedicated loading ramp designed for both civilian freight and military vehicles. It is expected to increase the port’s capacity for transshipment between rail, road, and sea modes while easing congestion on the Tricity road network.

The terminal is designed as a dual-use facility, aligned with the EU's Military Mobility initiative, supporting both commercial logistics and defence-related transport. It is intended to reinforce the role of the Port of Gdynia as part of the trans-European transport network, particularly along the Baltic–Adriatic corridor.

The project is scheduled for completion in the second half of 2026. General contracting is being carried out by NDI Group.
