CTL Logistics has expanded its fleet with the addition of two new Gama Marathon locomotives (Gosia and Dana)from Rail Capital Partners (RCP).

The partnership between CTL Logistics and RCP began in late 2022, when CTL received its first Gama Marathon locomotive. Another locomotive was delivered in early 2023, marking the beginning of what has become a growing relationship.

In December 2023, CTL Logistics also leased two Pesa Gama locomotives from Cargounit, underscoring the company's commitment to modernizing its fleet. The new locomotives from Pesa will contribute to this effort by providing operational flexibility, particularly on routes that include non-electrified sidings and end-of-line shunting in ports, steel mills, mines, and container terminals.

The Gama Marathon locomotives, produced by Pesa, feature an electric drive with an additional diesel engine. This configuration allows the locomotives to operate on sections without overhead lines, making them suitable for both long-haul and shunting operations. The diesel engine can drive a freight train of up to 3,200 tons, even on inclines of up to 7 per mille, ensuring reliability in various operational scenarios.

CTL Logistics' ongoing investment in modern locomotives reflects a broader industry trend towards replacing older rolling stock with more efficient and environmentally friendly alternatives. The new locomotives from RCP will play a key role in optimizing CTL's supply chain by reducing the need for multiple locomotives and operators on certain routes.
